Protect Your Confidence

Today's thought is “protect your confidence”. I once heard someone say “Identify the things that take your confidence away and do less of them”. Great advice!

My mind has been fixated on a recent experience where I was in an environment that did not empower me. I knew I was not empowered because the entire time I was there I just kept thinking “I don't enjoy this”. Also, when I got home later that evening I was angry and when my wife approached me I snapped at her, expressing my frustration with my day.

  • It's crazy how negativity can stick to us and grow to become something we can feel as though we will never overcome...

I immediately went to the sink, washed my face, then prayed and asked God for peace.

After regaining a peaceful state, I apologized to my wife and filled her in on how my day was. That was when I realized that I can not put myself in that environment.

  • I've learned that fulfillment is achieved through acting on my core values. Any environment that goes against my values is the antithesis of where I should be. There is no way that I can find true happiness in a place that does not align with me authentically.

I have to be in positive wholesome environments! I have to put myself in growth-conscious environments! This is non-negotiable.

I will continue to remove all the things that do not serve me and replace negative experiences with those that align with my Core Values.
